Subject:correction of Asian dragon vase post
Posted By: David Sun, Jan 20, 2013 IP: 173.33.44.168

Hello All! This is a correction of a recent query I posted on January 12,2013 regarding identifying this Asian dragon vase. An outside source had suggested to me that this vase is stoneware and NOT resin, as I had originally thought! This is a good thing, I presume! This vase is unmarked however! Can anyone identify it! Any assistance or info would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

The vase has the appearance of what the Japanese call "tokoname", a terra cotta type of ceramic. Could date from the late Meiji period (1868-1912).

Best regards,

Bill H.
