Subject:4 Foot Tall Chinese Vase (Pair) - ID VALUE Help
Posted By: OCBruin Mon, Jan 28, 2013 IP: 68.5.190.125

Inherited chinese vase. Can someone help me identify these and approximately value them? They are approximately 4 feet tall 17 inches wide.

Also, can anyone recommend a consignment store or asian furniture store in southern california?

Please click link for further pictures.

Thanks

These vases were made in China at Jingdezhen and, based on the style of the Qianlong stamp, probably were decorated at a porcelain-painting factory in Macao circa the third quarter of the 20th century. This is a product that most serious collectors and investors woud probably shy away from due to the lack of antiquity. However, some home decorators might be willing to pay upwards of US$1000 for this pair.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Hi,

Ik think the mark reads "Da Qing Qianlong" The border around the characters are the same as used on "modern Swatow" ware in the 1970's.
I think this should be (about) the correct dating for your vases also.

Regards,

Arjan
