Subject:Chinese pillow book(s)
Posted By: Clive Myhill Fri, Apr 19, 2013 IP: 92.20.228.137 Hi.I have a pair of these books,13cm x 9cm x 2.5cm with mahogony/cherry?wood covers the fronts being carved in relief with a plant,poss plum in a vase.The paintings are 'primitive' although in colour and show scenes of intercourse.I have established that they are not Japanese and I believe both come from China.No signatures or writing present.Any thoughts on origin and value would be appreciated.
