The mark reads down from the top right in two stacks as 'Zhu Ren Tang Zhi' (Made for the Hall where Benevolence Resides). This was the name of the presidential palace of Yuan Shikai, who had been named first President of the Chinese Republic in 1913 and later became the non-dynastic Emperor Hongxian, who died after a short rule in 1915-16.

Some remarkable porcelains were made at Jingdezhen during this period, but I'm unfamiliar with any period pottery, such as this appears to be, associated with this hallmark. The mark has been widely reproduced, and my visceral reaction would be that this may be such an instance.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Oops! The correct pinyin for the mark is "Ju Ren Tang Zhi".

Bill thanks for the information the history i have is that it was given to me from a relative who got it from China in the late 60's. it would be great to know what the calligraphy has to say as it covers the whole vase. here is another photo with a third red marking shown.
