Subject:Re: Tibetan Wall Hangings
Posted By: Nels Fri, Nov 22, 2013 I believe that this is a thangka of Amitabha, the buddha of infinite Light. The hand position seems correct for that, but Amitabha is usually depicted in red. I can't see enough detail into the side images to see if it is supposed to be a lineage thangka depicting the lineage of teachers or something else. It may be an image of Shakyamuni, but he is usually depicted with different hand positions. Please post close ups of center image and side images and I will try and help identify. |
