Subject:Hexagonal enameled cloisonne vases
Posted By: A Sutton Sun, Nov 03, 2013 IP: 107.19.132.244

This is a pair of 8" high vases from a local collector which included many Qing and early pieces but I am unsure of what they are or age. If anyone can help, sincerely appreciative. Unfortunately I cannot get better pictures

Your vases are Canton enamel. They are modern, post 1950's and possibly even newer.

Qing Canton enamels are very brightly colored and decorated in the typical famille rose style of the period.

Your vases have dark enamels, with post-Republic era style landscapes.

I find these kind of vases in lamp stores as they buy a lot of Chinese modern reproductions.
