Subject:Trying to identify a print that belonged to my uncle
Posted By: Birdie in NM Sun, Nov 03, 2013 IP: 50.59.173.16

My uncle was in Japan during and after World War II, and was given a set of gorgeous prints by a Japanese official. They are really unusual; they depict traditional Japanese scenes of family and work life, and if you lift them up, there is another print underneath each of them, a print which looks like was made from a real flower. One is a chrysanthamum, one is a lily of some sort, etc. The set consists of four prints, each with a different flower print hidden under the other print. They are really something.

I am going to get them all framed - although I don't know how to do so and show the underlying prints as well.

I would love to know who the artist was, as these are a part of my family's history.

Thanks so much!!
