Subject:Trying to identify what I think is some sort of storybook - possibly Balinese?

I got this a few years ago at an antique show, and have never been able to identify it. Finally put it on reddit and it was suggested that the coins were Chinese and the writings and drawings were Balinese, or perhaps Indian. The writing looks closer to Balinese, I think?
Each page is very thin wood, and the ends are a thicker, stained and carved piece. It seems like some sort of storytelling toy or book, with drawings on one side and wording on the other of each page.
I'd love any information anyone might have, and really appreciate it!

This is Balinese, and the telling of the story of the Ramayana. In one of your pictures, you can see Rama shooting the golden deer, an important part of the story, as the deer was really one of the baddies.
