Subject:Unknown Makers Mark on 'Chinese' bowl
Posted By: Donna Fri, Jan 10, 2014 IP: 66.245.252.233 I have no earthly idea whether this is modern or an antique as I cannot seem to find ANYTHING on this particular mark. The only TC reference I could find was for a silver maker and you can plainly see this is not a silver bowl. |

Posted By: Bill H Sun, Jan 12, 2014 The two characters above the "T. C" within a lozenge may be read right-to-left as "Ta Tung" (pinyin "Datong"), a major Taiwan Chinaware producer. I'd guess this to be a vintage mark of the company, perhaps from the 3rd quarter, 20th century. |
