Subject:Carved panel

Hi, I recently acquired this large painted panel, I don't think it has any great age, but I was hoping that someone with more knowledge could tell me if any of the figures are recognisable dieties and also if there is any story or symbolism going on in the scene, a friend seems to think that the carving is Balinese so any thoughts on this would be very appreciated.
The panel is a single piece of hardwood over six feet long and appears to be gilded also.
