Subject:Valuation of art
Posted By: terri Thu, Feb 20, 2014 IP: 69.21.147.34 I have a friend who bought this item 20 years ago at a yard sale. She knows nothing about it, and would like an idea on its value. WE live i a small town in Wisconsin. It appears to me to be Sout East Asian. It is a carved wood mirror. I only name it Thai mirror here for convenience. Any ideas on how to research this? Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks. |

Subject:Re: Valuation of art
Posted By: Bill H Fri, Feb 21, 2014 The carving appears to be Balinese. Quite a lot of this decorative art came out of Southeast Asia during the 3rd quarter of the 20th century with personnel returning from the Vietnam War. More came along through import stores. If you're looking to establish a value, dismal results for "Balinese wood Carving" from my eBay search suggest it is still an acquired taste. |
