Subject:please can you identify this chop!?
Posted By: robin Tue, May 06, 2014 IP: 108.6.129.153

I was wondering if anyone can identify the chop in the photograph? It is on the back of a large (approximately 14 inches in diameter) round plate with burnt red coloration in the background. Also, if anyone might know the value of the plate that, too, would be really helpful!! Thanks for your help.

The apocryphal stamped-on mark reads "Made in the Qianlong Reign, Great Qing Dynasty". The decorative dish was produced at a ceramics decorating factory in one of the Chinese special zones or elsewhere in Asia in the late 20th century or subsequently. Value is in the eyes of the beholder, but to some people a large stand like this is worth as much or more than the dish.

Best regards,

Bill H.
