Posted By: Bill H Wed, May 14, 2014 Vases like this try to emulate Japanese ceramics and have been sold at import stores in the USA in recent years under labels like Imperial Satsuma and Royal Satsuma. They have decorative value only, perhaps $150-$175 in the case of an apparently tall one like this. |

Posted By: Bill H Thu, May 15, 2014 Mike, per your "back-channel" query, I don't really need to see other photos of this particular vase, because its pattern mates are all over estate sales and consignment stores nowadays. However, a lot of recent contributors to the forum like yourself seem to be under the misapprehension that directions about not leaving spaces in the filename means they need to fill in all three of the upload windows. That isn't the case, but in the future, it would help some of us get a handle on age and other specifics of a piece of porcelain if we can see both decorated sides, as well as the bottom, which would require meeting the limit of three separate uploads. However, once the posting appears, you can add three more pictures to it if needed. |
