Subject:Can you help me identify this vase please
Posted By: Billie Sun, May 18, 2014 IP: 121.219.107.35 I think it is probably Thai... hoping it is 1920's? |

Posted By: Bill H Mon, May 19, 2014 The characters on the bottom of your vase read down and across from the top right as "Registered Mark of Jin Yufeng" (Jin Yu Feng Ji - 金玉鋒記). See the link below for images of another piece of porcelain with this mark under discussion by a Mainland China website. I gather that Jin Yufeng was a Republic-era (1912-1949) porcelain-maker. Thailand and Indonesia both have the porcelain-making infrastructure and expertise to produce ersatz Chinese antique porcelains with character markings. |
