Subject:bronze vase - Chinese?

I inherited this vase, made of bronze I think. It is 17 cm high, and is decorated as you see on the picture, on each side. It comes from an "old" family so I imagine it is quite old - but I have no idea about what it is. Someone suggested it is a Chinese miniature urn from the 18th century. What do you think? About its origin and use? What is it? Thanks for your help!

Here are two more pictures. There are no signs or characters, as far as I can see. I seems as if it was mended in the bottom.
