Subject:vase
Posted By: JBracken Tue, Jun 17, 2014 IP: 75.70.184.79 I also got a vase at the auction I went to. It does not have a name on the bottom but simply says, "decorative use only. Not for food use. Made in China." Is it worth anything? |

Posted By: Stan Wed, Jun 18, 2014 Given the "Made in China" marking, it was made after 1914. Given the "Decorative use only. Not for food use." marking, it means it was made after it was realized that lead can leach from the pottery into the food. You can probably find when that marking was required. I'm too lazy, but it was probably second half of the 20th century. |
