Subject:Blue and White Vase
Posted By: Elle Sun, Jun 22, 2014 IP: 173.129.89.38

Hi,

I'm hoping someone can help with this vase. I can't tell if it's Japanese or Chinese, nor the age (it does have iron spots here and there), and the writing on the bottom completely stumps me. Can anyone tell what the writing says, or tell me the age and/or if it's Japanese or Chinese?
The vase is 10" tall.

Thank you in advance,

Elle

Hi Elle,

Your jar is Chinese and the marks looks like a hastely written Kangxi marking (Kangxi nian zhi). Dating: probably Guangxu period.

Arjan

Hi Arjan,

Thankyou! I really appreciate your taking the time to reply! I don't know if a second question is allowed, but, just in case; do you think it is valuable, or just kind of ordinary?

Thanks again, I'm really grateful for your expertise and experience!

Elle

Hi Elle,

I'm not so good in values but don't expect to much of it. (I think there should be a lid on it as well).

Regards,

Arjan
