Posted By: Bill H Wed, Jun 25, 2014 The signature purports the brush was wielded by Wang Yeting, but the quality of the landscape makes a poor case for authenticity. Probably contemporary, whereas Wang was a member of the famous early 20th century group, the "Eight Friends of Zhushan" at Jingdezhen. |

Posted By: Simonne Fri, Jun 27, 2014 Thank you Bill, for your opinion. The frame is very old and the painting is in relief. Maybe the photos are not so good. Could you, please, translate the inscription? Part of a poem? |

Posted By: Bill H Fri, Jun 27, 2014 In my opinion, the apparent age of a frame and the content of an inscription contribute little to the process of judging the age of something otherwise so stylistically removed from the body of work of its purported creator. Please see the links for a sampling of actual porcelain paintings by Wang Yeting. |
