Subject:Japanese Watercolor - Post WWII
Posted By: Patrick Mullen Sun, Jun 29, 2014 IP: 76.112.143.187

I have about 5-6 watercolor paintings I believe to be of Japanese origin with signature. I am looking for information about whether these are important or novelty piece. I have attached images only of the first painting.

These are not watercolors, but woodblock prints.
Not important, but I would not describe as 'novelty' either. There just isn't much demand for this style of print, but there is some artistic style to the piece.

This is not a watercolor; rather, it is a woodblock print published by Kyoto Hanga-In, designed by Sanzo Wada. It is one of a series of images depicting various Japanese occupations. It was published sometime between the late 1940s and the early 1960s.
