Subject:identify mark located inside pair of vases

Posted By: Bill H Thu, Jul 17, 2014 Your vases are Japanese. The character literally means "white" and by extension "pure". Therefore I'm guessing in the context of your vases that it may be a factory quality-control inspector's marking that means "without fault". Otherwise, it can be a surname or given name (usually feminine), so could be the personal mark of the quality-control inspector who passed the vase. |
