This painting had been hanging in my grandmothers house since I can remember.

I just want to know a bit more about it since I'm not familiar with Asian Art. When was this painted and who painted it?

There's also a piece of paper in what appears to be Chinese on the back.

Having that panel on the back is a lifesaver. Your painting is by a Korean artist, whose name is the three large characters on the top printed line. Unfortunately I can't give you the Korean pronunciation of those characters. The rest of the panel is a brief CV listing the college he attended and various one-man shows, invited shows, and other programs he was invited to participate in.

Can't quite make out the first character of the painting's title, but it might be "Masses? of trees against verdant peaks". The cyclical date seems to correspond to 1989.
