Subject:Chinese or Japanese blue & white plate
Posted By: Hank Mon, Oct 20, 2014 IP: 69.130.77.166

This plate looks like either Japanese or Chinese and measures 8.25 inches in diameter across. It has very noticeable pontil type marks on base.It looks to be warped when made so not perfectly flat across the top ridge or edge.Maybe 1800's or earlier.
The color of porcelain is more white than in the dark photos and blue is more like cobalt flow blue color.

Hi, I think that is Japanese Shida-Yaki porcelain from the late Edo period.
