Subject:Vase Marking Identification Needed
Posted By: K Davidock Tue, Nov 18, 2014 IP: 75.97.52.174

Hi~
I purchased this 12 1/2" high vase recently at an auction but have been unable to identify the bottom base marking...thought perhaps someone may be familiar with this type of vase and marking...glazed inside and out...substantial weight to it...thanks much

I've never seen that base mark before but the vase looks stylistically to be a late 20th century or possibly subsequent product of Vietnam.

Best regards,

Bill H.

Thanks Bill for your input and mentioning Vietnam...that gave me my starting point...I always thought I saw the name "Dona" on the blurred marking...did more searching and discovered it was made by Dona Pottery in Vietnam...found identical vase online and if corrrect, this vase was made in the 50-70s...thanks much
