Subject:Nezha painting information
Posted By: Sherry Wed, Dec 31, 2014 IP: 23.118.76.148

Hello -
Was going to just take this to get it matted and framed but decided to see if it is worthy of the cost of restoration/special treatment. I have included a picture of the painting, five chop marks, and what I guess is the artist's signature. I will try to get better quality pictures later today. Any information provided would be appreciated.

I'd leave it alone: this is a recent picture that follows the style of Huang Zhou (a 20th century painter) but is impressed with seals including at least one supposedly belonging to the Qianlong emperor (18th century), which is impossible.

the first two of these seals are supposedly those of Puyi, the last emperor, who would have applied them before the artist your picture is imitating was born.

Another stamp on painting plus signature on front and calligraphy on back.
