During my previous study of jade colors, I have not seen any genuine and unaltered "purple" nephrite jade. Usually so called "purple jade" refers to jadeite, unfortunately genuine "purple" jadeite is actually quite rare and can be very pricey especially the good quality ones. Many so called "purple jade" that are readily for sales on eBay were mostly dyed bright purple and can be easily detected because genuine "purple" jadeite actually appears to be "lavender" (more pink than purple). Once a while, you may find a few genuine ones.
I once saw a very nice and genuine lavender jadeite pendant in a platinum frame surrounded with small diamonds for sales for a few thousand US dollars in St. Louis in 2006 when my wife and I tried to purchase a college graduation gift for our daughter. We did not buy it because we did not know if she would like it. In hindsight, we probably should have bought it because the quality of the lavender jadeite was exceptional and price of platinum had since gone up.
Also, some time jadeite with green, white and lavender color together are called "bubble gum" jade but it can be very difficult to authenticate with pictures alone and once my smart friend bought one that looks like bubble gum jadeite only found out it was not jadeite after receiving and testing it. Therefore, unless you know exactly what you are doing, I would stay away from "purple" jade especially if they are priced highly.
Hope this helps.
