Hi,

I recently bought a set of antique chairs. Can anyone identify the wood used for the chairs and the estimated period? The entire set are made of the same type of wood. I intend to do some restoration to them. Any advise on the finishing that is appropriate?

Hongmu....100%. I've owned this type of chair and it can be found in a number of books on Chinese classical furniture. 19th c. Nice that you have a pair.
