This vase has a single Nian mark on bottom. I have seen this once before.
What is the reason and mening of this single Nian mark?

Thanks for your help.

Hi
This is the mark "Yu" meaning "jade".
Kind regards

The character is yu 玉, meaning "jade", perhaps "precious" by extension. Hard to know without pictures of the object it was painted on.

Mark of Jade (Yu - 玉), used from the Yuan to Qing Dynasties. Symbol of Beauty. No. 44 in Gerald Davison's "The New & Revised Handbook of Marks on Chinese Ceramics" (2013).

Thanks for the side view. The drawing style and underglaze blue washes look to me to be consistent with those of the Kangxi Period (1662-1722).

Best regards,
