Subject:Chinese Figurine info wanted

Can anyone tell me anything about my small 5” carved wood figurine? It was given to me by an elderly woman who had been a missionary in China, until 1937 when she had to leave, due to the war. So I suppose it dates from around that time or maybe earlier? I was wondering if the figure itself has any special meaning, or represents someone? I know my photographs aren’t the best, but hopefully you can still view it. Thank you for looking!
