I wonder if anyone can translate the script for me on this modern black glass paperweight ?

I tried an online translator but failed miserably.

The four characters on the top and repeated at the end of the exhortatory inscription on the side are 蒸蒸日上, an idiom meaning something like "developing/improving more and more each day". The inscription on the side is a bit like a corporate mission statement。

Typing some of the text carved into the side into Google yields the following, suggesting that someone has kept the vessel that was originally placed on its top.
