hi there,I was wondering if anyone could help identify the artist etc on this water color painting that I have.
Its really done well,but I have no idea who it is by etc,so thanks for any help with it .

The two bold black characters as well as those in the red seal appear to read as 麦馈, or 'Mai Kui' in Mandarin Chinese. However, the style of the farm architecture seems to me to be more Japanese than Chinese. 'Mai" can be a surname, so this might be an artist's name, but a title is suggested by its literal meaning of 'Gift of Food', when read in the context of the agrarian scene. Perhaps one of our Japanese contributor's could comment on this one.

oh i see,thank you for that information.It does make sense considering the scene/Have you any idea of its age at all?? Or if anyone has more info,please reply.This is intriguing to me.

Dear Bill,

I think the second character is Ling 嶺 rather than the Kui you suggest. It is much clearer in the seal.

Artist's name then Mai Ling.

Second half of the 20th century for sure, but it could be from any of several decades.
