Subject:carved green stone box

Hello all! Can anyone identify the stone of this carved box? As is shown in my photos the stone is translucent thus I didn't think soapstone could be carved this thin! Any assistance with this query would be greatly appreciated! Thank you! David.

Sorry, but all the indication are there..it is soapstone. always do the scratch test..on different stones, so you learn how to "feel" the difference

Possibly African carved softstone box with lion chasing gazelle?
