Subject:Re: Salters - Info please
Posted By: Bill H Wed, Sep 16, 2015 Lacking a mark, there's no hint as to whether these are Western or Asian. The "Moriage" technique of raised decoration on the inside rim is associated with Japanese porcelains, which usually bear markings, but the same kind of work also is found on European wares from Limoges, Meissen and other kilns. You may want to spend some time reviewing various of the latter patterns. |

Posted By: Ernest Wilhelm Wed, Sep 16, 2015 I saw recently in a Wahington State antique shop something very similar: It was described as Japanese made eggshell porcelain salter but those were not signed. Does your set have a signature? That set of 4 was being sold at US $ 89.00 I hope this helps somewhat. |

Posted By: Sarah Thu, Sep 17, 2015 No ... I'm afraid there is no signature and no markings are visible. |
