Subject:Bronze 'Plaque'; What IS This?

Picked up this 2 sided bronze (I assume...no rust), cast, 'footed' (to stand upright) 'plaque' at an estate sale (it's about 10" x 7"). I beg forgiveness for my ignorance of Asian writing or art, but a bit of research has me thinking it's probably Japanese.
I'd really appreciate help figuring out a) what it is'/what does it 'say, b) how old it is, c) ballpark of what it's value is.
Did I get an old gem, or a common tourist piece? Doesn't really matter, as I like it either way, but I'd like to know.
