Subject:Qianlong vase
Posted By: Chris Sat, Nov 14, 2015 IP: 89.73.108.249 I bought this vase with Qianlong mark. I am not so optimistic that it is from Qianlong time. I think it is Guangxu or Republic. With lid it is ca. 29,5 cm high. I need help by attribution |

Posted By: Bill H Sun, Nov 15, 2015 This looks like a contemporary transfer-ware creation of the type that once was the province of Hong Kong and Macao, but since the late 20th century apparently has spread North to the Shenzhen Economic Zone and elsewhere in China. A lot of these wares are low-fired pottery that is much heavier than fine porcelain of the same dimensions. Also, the Western-style alphanumeric factory number that looks like it says 'B 58' is something you'd never find on Chinese porcelain from the Guangxu or Republic Era. |
