Subject:Qing Tongzhi plate ID -- authentic or repro?
Posted By: Don Danford Fri, Jan 15, 2016 IP: 173.93.205.119 Any opinions as to the authenticity of this plate would be most appreciated! The stamp identifies it as Qing Dynasty, Tongzhi period, but we're aware that stamps are not a hard-and-fast authenticating factor. :-) |

Posted By: Bill H Sat, Jan 16, 2016 Your plate with apocryphal Qing Dyansty Tongzhi reign mark is a transfer-decorated product of one of China's many porcelain-painting factories. It probably is no older than the late 20th-early 21st century. |
