Subject:Question Re Hollywood Prop Collectors
Posted By: Rob Sun, Apr 03, 2016 IP: 71.55.155.253

Hello -

Curious to learn more about the Asian Hollywood Movie Prop Collectors Market. I'm Hollywood prop Dealer, and represent several collectors of high-end movie prop relics used in classic Hollywood movies.

Two example items is the original carriage used in the "Wizard of Oz," and one of the main carriages used in critical scenes in "Gone With The Wind."

I hear Asia is a big market of rare Hollywood Collectibles so thought to ask. Thank you.

This is the first I have heard such a claim. There may be a market for animation cels and the like, but many wealthy Asians live in dense urban apartments and have little interest in prewar Hollywood anything. They certainly are not going to sacrifice livingroom space for a horse-drawn carriage. Then again there are plenty of nouveau riche Chinese with whimsical tastes, so you never know.
