Subject:Sung Dynasty Bowls.

I have 2 plain, grey bowls purchased in 2004 from an antique store in Florida. I was told that they were from the Sung Dynasty and am trying to confirm whether they are authentic or not. They measure about 6" x 1-1/2 to 2" deep. The bowls are not identical. Some iron is showing through the glaze and there is some minor chipping on the bottom of the base/foot. Similar bowls on eBay stated that those were grey celadon from Sung Period. Any idea age, authenticity, value? Additional photos will be uploaded in a future reply as per instructions. Thanks

Can anyone tell if these bowls are authentic Sung Dynasty? Would it be worth it to get them appraised and authenticated? And if so, where can this be done in South Jersey area? Tx

It's possible, yes, though these photos aren't terribly clear. But these sort of bowls are relatively common; an actual appraisal will cost more than they are worth. Curatorial staff at the Philadelphia Museum of Art are probably closest to you, try emailing the pics to the Asia folks there, or perhaps to Cary Liu at the Princeton U. art museum.
