Subject:Re: Attribution vase
Posted By: Bill H Mon, Sep 26, 2016 This Japanese vase, which originally might have been sold in a set of two or more for use as garniture, probably dates to circa 1900-1912 (end of the Meiji period). The mark would appear to be a cursive character version of "Imperial Japan, Made by Kinkozan" (Dai Nihon, Kinkozan Zo - 大日本, 錦光山造). I'm unsure of what is written on the foot, which usually is the domain of quality control notations. |
