the problem you will find is that even if you do get a piece of huali wood, it will need to oxidise with the atmosphere for hundreds of years to get the right patina.
On the other hand if it's just the spandrel, I would reccomend you use a generic that has a similar colour and grain structure throughout the body of the raw material. Dalbergia cochenisis is one option.
Bear in mind the wood is very different to huali wood, which is a dark wood until it becomes bleeched by sunlight and exposure to the elements.
You would be well advised to use a restorer who really understands the Chinese hardwoods.
