Subject:Info on small brass Foo lion/dog I excavated recently

Hi- I found this small brass dog/lion about 20 yards from a c1760 house in the lower Shenandoah Valley with my metal detector last week and I think it may be a variety of foo dog/lion, but I have not found any which match it in my limited research. I would love to know more about it, particularly its' age and what it was attached or affixed to. There is a small trace of gilt remaining under the nose.
Any help or info would be most appreciated!
