Subject:Help with Two oriental art works
Posted By: John Sun, Nov 20, 2016 IP: 188.29.164.225

Hello there , I am new to this forum, it looks amazing. I hope someone can tell me about the two pictures I have. One is name "Admiring the asters" but I cannot find anything about the piece. The other is a long painting 41 inches long. What I want to know is who are the artists? Are they prints paintings? Drawings? I have no clue. They are both signed and marked with multi red stamps. Thank you in advance any help or info is needed.

Both seem to be printed reproductions of original paintings, the handscroll original being rather recent, not earlier than the 1990s. You will need to post a clear closeup of the smaller characters of the inscription to determine whether it includes an artist's signature or date.

The album leaf original is part of an album of similar leaves painted by a Qing dynasty court artist; the image with the facing page of calligraphy includes several seals of the Qianlong emperor, so the original was painted before 1796. The image of the partial seals you've posted seems to be of later collectors' seals rather than of the artist's seals.
