Posted By: rat Thu, Dec 29, 2016 claims to date from third year of Japan's Genbun reign period, or 1738, and includes an artist's name, while the box which is clearly modern copies the carved inscription as closely as it can. what is the material of your Hotei? the striations/grain seem quite odd. please post an overall image of it. |

Posted By: Gary Furst Fri, Dec 30, 2016 Thanks for the detail RAT. The sculpture itself is gilt bronze and the base is silvered wood. It is only 8cm tall (excluding the base). |
