Posted By: rat Mon, Jan 30, 2017 looks like a good Japanese work to me, the first character of the seal unclear to me, seal seems to be 擇圓潭氏 but I think I am misreading the radical of the first character if someone wants to jump in.

Posted By: rat Thu, Feb 02, 2017 It is based on an older Chinese style but the mounting and more importantly the brushwork to me indicate that it's a more recent (probably no earlier than 19th century) Japanese work. Hopefully those knowledgeable about Japanese art can clarify, as my primary interest is Chinese pictures
