Re: Bowl |
Posted By: Bill H Posted Date: Nov 22, 2020 (12:53 PM) |
Message The bowl has a motif of flowering plum or 'prunus' growing 'over the wall', as the pattern that spans the rim is called. On the base in blue is an artemisia leaf, a precious object of Daoist lore, that was used on some porcelains of the Kangxi reign (1662-1722). However, this bowl appears to have been new when purchased by your father. I'm unable to read some of the characters on the label, but this type of paper labeling was common in the mid-20th century. Best regards, Bill H. Post a Response |
