Message Inscription says, 若狭塗 - Wakasanuri Wakasa lacquer ware chopsticks are produced in Wakasa, Obama City, Fukui prefecture. It is said that the origin of this work was that in the early Edo period (17th c.) Abalone shells, egg shells, pine needles etc. are applied to its surface during the repeated lacquering and polishing process. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
