Shan shui Winter landscape |
Posted By: I.Nagy Posted Date: Jan 08, 2022 (08:24 PM) |
Message It is Japanese, Signature, 旭斎寫 - Painted by Kyūsai(Rising Sun Studio) - Pseudonym Upper seal, 遠州漁叟 - Enshū gyosō (Old fisherman of Enshu) - Another pseudonym Lower seal, 旭斎 - Kyūsai I only find one painter with Kyusai 旭斎 pseudonym, whose name is Kanagi Toshikata 金木年景 (active in the 1870s-80s), but he is known as ukiyo-e painter. Of course it still doesn't rule out that he couldn't paint winter landscapes. There is very little information about him in the books or on the net. With regards, I.Nagy Post a Response |
