Subject:Hallmarks
Posted By: Alex Mon, Jun 14, 2004

Could you please advise whether there is a site for hallmarks for Tibetan silver. I have 4 small 'jugs' that are porcelain but set in metal stand - they also have decoration on them which I am told is Tibetan Silver. The bottom of the stand has hallmarks and I would like to check what these mean. I am actually unsure as to whether the hallmark would be from the porcelain or the metal.

Thank you.

I know of no site for hallmarks on Tibetan silver - usually there are none. If you could post pictures of the stands and the marks on the bottom we could probably give you more information.

good luck,

Ian Alsop
