The Buddha of Long Life is in a Pala revival style popular at this time, and has a compelling, monumental quality., with a full lower lip and a nose like a parrots beak in accordance with the Buddhist texts. He is seated in the lotus position with his well modelled hands in the mudra of meditation. His hair is tied in a chignon with extensive traces of the blue pigment which indicates his peaceful nature, and he wears elaborate Bodhisattva ornaments the armlets high on his upper arms in the early manner. He bears a small inscription to the reverse and has a pleasing rich dark patina.
