Detail: from right hand section Two front sections of an embroidered silk costume with the design of a prancing lion-dog amongst flowers and leaves against a blue ground, the tail end of a phoenix can be seen on one section. A panel at the base of the sections contains the front half and head of a phoenix with mountains and waves. The date of this textile has been confirmed by a C-14 test. |
