An inscribed copper gilt plaque depicting Kartikeya

Within a ring of flames and striding to the left on his vehicle, the peacock is Kartikeya the God of War and son of Shiva and Parvati. He holds his principal attribute, the arrow, in his upper left hand, while his lower left hand gestures in warning.
